Chapter 195 - The Mating

Sesshoumaru moved to the side, curious to see what Kagome intended. He watched with swirling gold and red eyes as she rolled over, and then scooted up on her hands and knees, facing away from him. For a moment he was stunned by her forwardness. Kagome looked over her shoulder at him and wiggled her ass in invitation.

He could sense Kagome's exhaustion as his beast receded back into his mind, satisfied. Sesshoumaru gently removed his fangs from her shoulder and licked at the bleeding punctures until the flow slowed. Then, he carefully lifted her body from his, allowing his length to slide out of her heat. She let out a little sigh of relief, and the taiyoukai found himself worried that he might have overwhelmed her. He scented her for injuries, and other than the already healing scratches on her shoulder blade, she was fine.
He very carefully laid her on her side on the bed before lying in front of her. He was staring at her shoulder and was shocked to see the wound heal over almost instantly. For a moment he feared that her powers had undone their mating, but when a crescent moon appeared to rise out of her skin where his bite mark had been, he relaxed. She was now officially his, forever.
Kagome opened her eyes and smiled at the taiyoukai lovingly. "Is it over, then?" Her voice was raspy as she spoke, and she had to clear her throat to continue. "Are we mated?"
"We are, my angel, my mate."
"Good. I was worried my powers had done something. They just kind of took over on their own."
Evaluating how he felt, Sesshoumaru finally realized just what her powers had done. "Just as my soul bonded to yours through my youki, your powers bonded your soul to mine. Ours is a true and complete mating, something that I hadn't thought possible because of your humanity. Sleep now, Kagome."

The miko smiled again and closed her eyes, sleep finding her almost instantly. Sesshoumaru shifted, moving to lay on her other side so that he could pull her back to his chest. He held her close, breathing in their combined scent.
It was difficult to stay in bed with her. He felt energized, and he ached to jump up and rush to his office, summoning Atsushi on the way, so they could get to work finishing their mating announcements. He wanted the world to know that he had officially claimed his mate, and that he was the happiest male in the world, but that could wait until morning. He would stay with his angel, holding her close, until she was ready to wake.
After a while, his mind calmed, and Sesshoumaru was able to drift off to sleep, as well, the newly mated pair's bodies entwined just as their souls were.
