Grip and Hold On

Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me, and a nod of recognition goes to the creator of this challenge.

A/N: None. :) Update 3 of 5.

Chapter 228: Grip and Hold On

Kagome attempted to stand, wincing as her hip throbbed beneath its makeshift bandage. With her legs wobbling like a newborn fawn’s, Kaede’s chestnut stallion offered her an unimpressed snort, but allowed the woman to grab onto his mane and pull herself up. The animal’s hair was thick enough that he didn’t mind it when Kagome’s fingers accidentally yanked on a few strands.

Humans were clumsy… and fragile.

Kagome scanned the field, where the battle with Mistress Centipede continued. The men were losing. Shaken by the fact, she reached for Tessaiga at her waist. Except, it wasn’t there.

“Where’s my sword?”
