Carnaval

1: Magic

By: Luna

Kagome moved fluidly with the music. She closed her eyes, letting it flow through her, wrap itself around her soul to completely immerse herself. The magic of the night wasn’t lost on her; the Rio Carnaval was one of the biggest carnivals in the world. Everyone was dancing, singing, moving with the beat. It was a night made to remember, or in some cases, forget the morning after in an alcoholic stupor.

Kagome was here to forget.

Suddenly masculine hands grasped her hips, and a hard, stream-lined body moved behind her and matched her move for move. Kagome didn’t even look as she continued to dance with him; she only laughed in delight when he suddenly spun her around, and then she was suddenly face-to-face with the dancer, and she was glad she was liquored up enough to not stop and simply stare.

Though he had Japanese features, his coloring was completely unlike anything she had ever seen. Silver hair – or was it white? – cut in a short crop around a handsome face with aristocratic features, and molten golden eyes staring at her as if she was dessert. Heat flooded through her, and she couldn’t help the sultry smile that curved her lips. His face was hard, his lips unsmiling – but his eyes… they were so hot she nearly burned.

He was just a stranger, a nobody.

And, Kagome thought with a grin, he was coming home with her tonight.
