“Mom we’re home!” Kagome called out as her mate, Sesshomaru, and Inuyasha entered her family home. Inuyasha left to go see what new game Souta had, while Sesshomaru followed Kagome towards the kitchen.

It has been over two years since Naraku’s terror was over. Since then Miroku and Sango got married and had one son and another on the way. Sango had a teary good bye to her younger brother, Kohaku. Kikyou left soon after the battle, they have not crossed paths with her again, much to Inuyasha’s dismay. Kagome started to get to know Sesshomaru and was mated to him one year after. Rin and Shippo rejoiced as they had a family and played every day.

The Shikon Jewel, now complete, hung around Kagome’s neck. She is still unsure what to use for, not sure what would be considered an unselfish wish. Till then, she took advantage of time traveling through the well. She took the time to introduce Sesshomaru to some of the wonders of what the future holds. He didn’t take to most of them; it didn’t help much when Inuyasha will tell him some absurd stories about some of the electronics.

Kagome’s mother just finished washing the dishes, when she saw them. “Hello honey! Good afternoon Lord Sesshomaru.”

Sesshomaru nodded his head towards his mother-in-law. “I am just about to start the laundry. Kagome, I wouldn’t mind any help.”

“Sure. Sesshomaru, you can go into the living room and watch some TV with Inuyasha and Souta.”

Sesshomaru turned and walked towards the couch. He despised the woosher. The first time he saw the white box shaped…thing, Kagome’s mother asked for help. As requested he poured a box of white powder into its large square mouth.  It soon started to spill out some sort of white, bubble miasma. He knew what Naraku’s could do, but was uncertain what type of demon this was. Before he could slice it with his poison whip, Kagome came running and pulled on its grey tail that seemed to attach its self to the wall of the house. The audacity of that demon!

He was scolded by his human mate, and she explained what exactly the woosher does. He was no longer allowed in the laundry room. He huffed, like she could tell him were he could and could not go. Although he would not enter, not after another weird, four metaled legged….he was unsure how to describe it. It looked to be like a rectangle but the tip was different. Like a dull point, and on top was another weirdly shaped object. This was white with a handle and silver with holes on the bottom. Kagome called it an “irioning board” and the object on top was the irioning. He didn’t like either, more less when Inuyasha informed him that it would at times attack people like Kagome or her mother and cause them to get burned. He destroyed four, each time it would reappear after two days. In the end Kagome and her mother scold both of the brothers.

As he tried to learn each object, he noticed that they all had some sort of tail. Weather black, gray, or white, they all attracted themselves to some sort of holes in the wall. He took noticed on how the objects depended on those holes. When attracted they lived, and when not they were dead. “Shokit” he believed Kagome called it once.

As he entered the living room, he saw the half-breed and Souta shouting at the tevison. He took notice that it also had a black tail attached in the wall. Inuyasha took notice of his older sibling and looked in the direction he was looking at.

“Oi! What are you staring at?” Souta was to into his game to realize the Taiyoukai entered. Golding eyes looked up to Inuyasha and back to the black tail. Inuyasha took notice and a grin started to spread. He stood and walked towards his brother.

“Inuyasha, you will inform This Sesshomaru what the shokit does.”

“Its socet, not shokit. If you are going to try and fit in the future at least learn how to say the word right.”

Sesshomaru’s eyes narrowed. He growled at the whelp.

“Look the SOCET, helps keep most of these….smaller demons alive. Without it, they will no longer exist. How else do you think Kagome gets burn? They are all its bidding.”

“But,” he said when he was Sesshomaru’s eyes widen, just a bit. “There is a way to destroy it. You have to do it when Kagome is not around. It has her whole family fooled by making them believe they need it to survive.”

Sesshomaru nodded. Inuyasha knew more about this time, so he had no choice but to trust him. He had to protect his mate, even in her own time.

“How?”

“There is one way. I will tell you but after the whole family is distracted.”

Kagome entered the living room a few hours later with fresh cookies, she and her mother baked. Her grandfather was sitting in his chair, nodding off as he read the newspaper. Souta was lying on the floor with a pillow watching his favorite anime. Kagome’s mother was just setting up some tea for everyone. She wasn’t sure where the Inu brothers were, but she just hoped they were not destroying anything else.

“Hey Souta, you want a cookie?”

“Sure.”

Kagome walked towards her brother. As she neared him, the whole room when dark and she tripped over him.

“OW! GET OFF OF ME!!!”

“Shut up Souta!”

“Oh my! What happen?”

Snore.

The lights returned on in a matter of seconds, followed by a thump. Kagome was on top of Souta, who was pushing her off. Their mother was up on her feet, checking on the sleeping grandfather. The fresh cookies that were on the floor in pieces, complete forgotten. Kagome stood up and went into the kitchen. She gasped at the sight and called for her mother.

Sesshomaru was on the floor. His soft silver hair was now shoot up and was frizzy. She kneeled down beside him, and checked him for any injuries. Kagome sighed when she found none. She looked around for the cause and found a metal fork close by one of the sockets.

“Sesshomaru, what were you thinking?” Kagome spent the last four hours taking care of Sesshomaur’s hair. She sighed sadly of knowing it was going to be awhile before it got back to its softness. She had to use two deep conditioning masques, about three spray bottles of anti-frizz, and multiple combs and brushes. There were still some static here and there, but his hair still didn’t look right. He had horrible splint ends. Kagome feared he would have to cut it.

Sesshomaru didn’t speak during the whole process; he was absolutely livid and embarrassed the he was unable to defeat the demon, which Kagome informed him that it was not any sort of demon. It didn’t seem to help his pride. ‘Wait till I get my claws on you half-breed!’

Inuyasha had seemed to disappear after the incident.  ‘He is most likely gone back in the Feudal Era.’ Kagome sighed as she continued to brush her mate’s hair. Nothing seemed to work for him, so she had to do what she feared: she had to cut Sesshomaru’s hair.

A/N: This story came to mind when I remeber a story my dad told me when he was young. His younger brother dared him to stick something into a socket and you can guess what happened. My uncle disappered for the rest of they day and my grandmother was not a happy momma.
