Toddling Towards Fate by summerbirdy

Prologue

This story is for sugar0o, who decided to glue plunnie on me while I was going on a trip. Hope you enjoy this one, and that I make justice for your plot.

I apologize in advantage if first chapters are a bit short, but I promise you they will get longer.

And I don't own IY, Takahashi-sensei does. I just borrow them on my story, for my own enjoyment. ^^

Prologue

Kagome sat in beautiful garden, watching her pups play. Over the years, she had learned to call them pups instead of children, and she had to admit, that they did act more like pups than children.

The garden was full of bright colors, lovely fragrant of flowers she had been growing for years and happily screaming pups. The puppy ears on their heads were twitching with every sound they heard. Some of the pups had onyx black hair, some had their father's silvery white. Some got their eye color from her and others had golden eyes like their father. The oldest of her pups was spitting image of her mate and youngest daughter looked just like she did as a child.

A pair of familiar hands circled her rounding belly, where their next pup was growing. Kagome sighed happily and nuzzled against his strong chest while she continued watching pups. Her eyes found the three most different ones hunched in a corner, whispering something and giggling. While the girl, a human, was the oldest looking, she had that youthful spirit that made her still act like a child, much to her husband's dismay. The red headed kitsune boy was also almost grown up, a soldier in training. And was still as much a trickster as he had been when he was small enough for Kagome to carry him. A teenage looking pup with white hair and golden eyes, was her pride and joy. She watched as he started gathering others to do whatever the three of them had planned.

Kagome smiled and felt her heart fill with motherly pride. While the pup wasn't hers, she still felt like a mother to him, and loved him just as much as she loved her own pups. He seemed to fit into their growing family seamlessly, even if he was technically an uncle to her pups. But she had raised him from an infant. He was her first pup, maybe not by birth, but loved just the same.

Her beautiful pup.
