“I'm home,” Kagome called out walking into the front of her home only to stop dead in her tracks at the sight before her. There in the center of the floor sat her husband and mate Sesshomaru in all his glory surrounded by pieces of wood, nails, bolts, and screws, hunched over a piece of wood and with a screwdriver in his hand.

“What are you doing?” she asked walking over towards him while stepping over the many pieces of wood scattered all over her once clean floor.

“This Sesshomaru is putting together the desk my mate wanted,” he said pulling a piece of wood closer to him so that he could connect it to the current piece in his hands.

“Sessh, Honey, I think you may be doing that wr... “ before she could finished she was staring directly into his eyes as he growled deeply at her, “ Sweetie, I just don't think that goes there.”

“Be silent, Miko,” he growled at her while trying to connect another piece to the wrong end. As she began to reach for the directions to the desk she stopped when she heard him growl again.

“I know what I am doing, there is no need to use that pathetic piece of paper,” he growled while hammering together two obviously wrong pieces of wood. Without another word she bent down to kiss him on his moon in the center of his forehead then left towards the kitchen to get dinner ready.

~A Few Hours Later~

“Sessh, dinner is ready,” she called, walking out of the kitchen to check on her husband's progress with her desk. Again upon entering the front room she stopped dead in her tracks. She couldn't believe it. After all the mumbling he did while she prepared dinner the desk looked absolutely perfect.

“It's wonderful, Sessh. Thank you,” she said giving him a hug and a kiss on the lips. He smirked at his triumph.

“Yes, now I think I deserve a 'thank you'” he said lifting her up and walking towards the desk. Not one second after she was completely on the desk did crackling sound go through the room before the entire desk fell to pieces with the couple crashing down on top of it.

“Sessh, I can help you put it back together, with the directions,” Kagome said mumbling the directions part under her breath. Sesshomaru silently helped her off the floor before flopping down very ungracefully and picking up the tools he was previously using to start over on the desk for his mate.

“Sessh, don't you want to eat?” she asked dusting herself off. He just shook his head and continued to what looked like pout as he began working on the desk again.

“I'll put your plate in the microwave,” she said tucking his silver hair behind his ear to kiss his check. If he wasn't so focused on the desk in front of him he would have noticed the slight smile on her lips as she walked back into the kitchen.

~Two Days Later~

“You're joking right?” a young woman with brown hair and brown eyes asked taking a sip of her coffee while looking her friend in the eye.

“No joke, Sango. He pouted,” Kagome laughed stirring her coffee around with her straw.

“And all this because of a desk he couldn't put together?” a red head asked.

“Yep,” Kagome smiled looking over at Ayame.

“Did he ever put it together correctly?” Sango asked.

“Of course he did, after the third try and he actually used the directions,” Kagome answered, letting out a soft giggle.

“And to think all it takes is a simple desk to make the great Sesshomaru pout,” Ayame laughed. The rest of the day the Kagome spent telling the girls about Sesshomaru's many attempts at putting together her new desk.

AN: You don't have to if you don't want to, but I would like to know what you think of it.
