Can you...

ANJ well, this was just a random thought, no real inspiration… I might continue it, I mean nothing big, just kind of a parody. No real storyline, but as of now, it’s a one-shot! Much love, I hope you smile if only once.

Twiddling my thumbs nervously, I continued to look up to my mate. “Sesshomaru,” I started hesitantly, the question had been bothering me a lot lately. I had no idea whether it was possible even though he was a dog demon. That didn’t mean…

Clearing my throat, I crossed and uncrossed my arms over my chest and glanced towards the deep green walls of our living room as I thought over the question. Shifting my eyes to his handsome features ones more, I noted one elegant eye brow raised barley an inch higher than its twin and opened my mouth to speak.

Only to snap it closed again.

Okay, this was getting ridiculous, I told myself. We’d been mated for over three hundred years now, and here I am afraid of a simple, slightly insulting, question. Straitening my back with a bit more resolve, I took a deep breath.

“Can you- I mean are you able to…” I fumbled and huffed, looking to the ground utterly annoyed with myself.

“Am I able to…” his silky deep voice forced my gaze back to his eyes. Those eyes the color of the sun, those eyes that could make me just as hot.

I bit my lip as I glanced to the white cotton of his name brand polo shirt and then back to his eyes, the curious tint within them my only clue to the emotion he held on his expressionless face. Well besides that damned eyebrow.

“Are you able to… bark?” There. I’d said it. My lip returned to its sanctuary in between my teeth as my I waited for a reaction, any reaction.

His golden never left my blue as he stood there, his head tilted slightly to the side making several of his silver strands of soft hair fall from his shoulder and to his back. After almost a full minute of unblinking unwavering silence, I felt my cheeks heat slightly.

“I’m sorry…” I began, guilt quickly filling my head with unwanted thoughts. Maybe I had insulted him off my own stupid curiosity. “I was just curious and, well…” I’d basically called him a dog, for Kamis sake! I mines well had told him to roll over and play dead! To sit or to fetch me the news paper! To eat off the floor and… and sleep at the foot of the bed! To-

All my thoughts came to an abrupt halt as my six foot tall, ever the respectful, extremely honorable husband made a very inhuman—or demon—dog like yip.

I grinned from ear to ear as I ran the short distance from one side of the room to the other and into his arms. I felt his nose in my hair as I closed my eyes my grin shrinking to a content smile as I breathed in the deeply masculine scent of my love. “Does that satisfy your curiosity, Gome?” I laughed lightly at the nickname he’d given me some odd two hundred years ago.

“I love you, Moru.” My only reply as we broke apart, my hand quickly grabbing his and making a dash to the car, glancing at my watch on the way. We’d be just on time for dinner with Inuyasha and Kikyou, I couldn’t wait to see if he was born with the same ability!

Ah, family.
