Summary: Kouga challenges Sesshoumaru for the right to date Kagome.

Kagome took her time getting ready for school. She must look her best for she is dating the most popular guy in school. She didn’t know how she was lucky enough to catch a fine specimen such as him, but she wasn’t going to let him slip through her fingers.

Lately, she has been lying to her mother about her new boyfriend. Her mother would never approve of her dating Sesshoumaru, so she began to give reasons why she couldn’t meet him.

It’s not that Kagome is ashamed about Sesshoumaru. She doesn’t know how her mother would take the truth about him being the leader of a group of delinquent boys. Her mother would hear about all the bad things he has done and would forbid her to see him again.

Kagome could never do such a thing because she’s in love with Sesshoumaru. It would break her heart to ignore her mother’s wishes and see Sesshoumaru behind her back. If she had to, she would run away from home just to be with him.

A car’s horn sounded outside the shrine and Kagome finished the last minute touches to her hair, before grabbing her backpack resting on the back of her computer chair. She rushed down the stairs and almost made it out the door, when her mother blocked her exit.

“Kagome, I made breakfast for you this morning.” She said, eyeing her daughter with a knowing look. “Would you like any of it?”

Kagome’s mother knew she was wasting her time asking her daughter about eating breakfast. Kagome always refused saying she would catch something later. She only wanted to spend more time with Kagome. During the past year, they haven’t been spending much time with each other like they used to.

Kagome would tell her mother about her day and would even share her secrets. Now, she was lucky enough to get one word out of her. It seems like Kagome is always busy with something and she suspects that it has to do with Kagome’s new boyfriend.

The horn sounded once more and Kagome looked towards the door with a worried look on her face. She turned back towards her mother and licked her lips nervously. “Sorry, Mom,” she said, placing her hand on the door handle. “I’m running late and my ride is here.”

Her mother glanced at the clock on the wall. “You still have plenty of time,” she said, turning back to find her daughter already gone. She shrugged her shoulders, knowing there was nothing else she could do, and went upstairs to wake Souta.

---

Kagome practically raced down the stairs.

Sesshoumaru hated to wait for anyone and if he was in a bad mood, he would scold her for her tardiness.

When she reached the bottom of the shrine’s many stairs, she dropped her backpack and hunched over, trying to catch her breath.

She heard the car door open and lifted herself up, knowing who was heading in her direction. She knew she was a safe enough distance to add changes to her uniform that Sesshoumaru preferred and began to roll the waist line of her pink and black uniform skirt up to resemble that of a mini.

Sesshoumaru watched her lift up her skirt with interest. He always loved seeing her milky, smooth legs. He got excited just by watching her and reached out to grabbed a hold of her pink and black checkered neck tie, and pulled her towards him.

Kagome instantly dropped her arms to her sides and moaned with pleasure when she felt Sesshoumaru’s lips press against hers. Her arms reached up behind the back of his neck and drew him closer towards her. Pleased with her behavior towards him, he released her tie and slid his arm to rest around her waist.

She felt herself getting wet between her legs and pressed up further against him. Sesshoumaru was also getting caught up in the moment and moved his hands to her ass, squeezing her cheeks. Kagome didn’t care if anyone who walked or drove by was surprised by her behavior. The only thing she wanted was for Sesshoumaru to take her here and now. Even against the car would be nice.

“Would you two stop giving us a show and get in the car already,” Inuyasha growled, leaning out the car window. “We’re going to be late to school.”

Naraku chuckled. “Are you mad because your brother is getting some and you aren’t? It’s not his fault that Kikyo dumped you.”

Inuyasha threw a punch at Naraku, but he dodged it. He then tried again, but Naraku still dodged the punch. “Hold still, will ya?” Inuyasha said, readying his fist for another punch.

“Is that all you got?” Naraku taunted him. “It’s no wonder Kikyo left you for me. You’re a weakling.”

The two of them were always switching with Kikyo. She would tire of Inuyasha and then move on to Naraku and vice versa. She would only stay a certain amount of time with each one.

Inuyasha growled and jumped towards Naraku, intending on fighting him. “You will regret those words, bastard.”

Sesshoumaru sighed as he pulled back from Kagome. “Enough, you two.” They both stopped what they were doing and scooted back against the car’s seats.

“You’re lucky I’m in a good mood today, Inuyasha,” he said, while walking Kagome to the car and opening the passenger door for her. “Or else, you would be meeting with my fist.”

“Feh,” Inuyasha sounded from his throat, forgetting all about Naraku and his earlier comments. “Like you would hit me.”

“Don’t tempt me, little brother.”

Inuyasha smirked. “Like you could. I only have to tell dad and you‘re off to military school.”

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes and slid into the driver’s seat. He adjusted his rear view mirror and peered at Inuyasha through it. “How very mature of you Inuyasha. Running to father with your tail between your legs.”

Kagome giggled at the boy’s antics. It was like this every morning. Inuyasha would pester his brother and Sesshoumaru would retaliate back.

“Hello, boys,” Kagome greeted the two in the back seat.

Inuyasha just huffed and crossed his arms over his chest. “What’s so good about it?” he asked her. “It’s just like any other time we go to school.”

“Be nice to Kagome, Inuyasha,” Sesshoumaru looked into the rearview mirror. “She was being polite.”

Naraku chuckled. “He wouldn’t know nothing about that. He’s a savage.” He then turned towards Kagome and gave her a smile. “You sure look happy this morning. Any particular reason?”

Kagome blushed and turned back towards the highway, refusing to speak the rest of the way. When they reached their high school a crowd had already gathered around the entrance of the school.

“I wonder what is going on?“ Inuyasha spoke, getting out of the car. “I don’t think we have an assembly this morning.”

Naraku nodded in agreement with him. “We will know soon enough.”

Just as he finished, Miroku came running towards them with Sango and Kikyo at his heels.

“You’re not going to like this, Sesshoumaru,” Miroku panted as he tried to catch his breath. “Kouga is blocking the entrance to the school demanding to see Kagome. He refuses to leave until he sees her.”

Sesshoumaru’s amber colored eyes narrowed in anger. “What are his demands?” He asked Miroku, knowing that he had already talked with the intruder.

Miroku gulped nervously. “He wants to fight you. He claims Kagome should be his woman.”

“He’s going to soon regret those words,” Sesshoumaru sneered.

Sesshoumaru wrapped his arm possessively around Kagome’s shoulders and headed towards the entrance with Naraku and Inuyasha at his heels. He knew without a doubt that Miroku was also following him, along with Kikyo and Sango.

Soon they caught sight of Kouga and his members lounging about on the steps. They stood up the moment they seen Sesshoumaru and his gang heading towards them. Kouga smiled warmly at Kagome, but she ignored him.

Sesshoumaru checked him over, not seeing what the fuss was about. “You should leave while you still have the chance,” he warned Kouga.

Kouga shook his head. “I won’t back down.”

“So be it,” Sesshoumaru spoke.

Kagome knew what was about to happen and even though she was worried about him, she couldn’t stop him. He would fight him in order to protect her from Kouga.

She felt him release his arm from her and she turned to face him. “Don’t hurt him to badly for my sake, Sesshoumaru,” she whispered, as she placed her hands in the collar of his white shirt and pulled him down for a quick kiss.

Whistles could be heard in the crowd, but she ignored them. She wanted Sesshoumaru to know how much he meant to her.

“You’re not worried for my sake, why?” He asked, when he pulled back from her.

Kagome smiled up at him. “Because I know you’re the better fighter.”

He was pleased with her words and bent over to kiss the top of her raven colored hair. “I will make this quick as possible,” he promised her.

She stood in front of Inuyasha, watching Sesshoumaru. She wanted to watch to make sure he was alright. Inuyasha placed his hand on her shoulder to give her some comfort and she reached up to squeeze his hand in reassurance. She never did let it go.

Sesshoumaru stared down at his opponent. He didn’t appreciate Kouga calling Kagome his woman and today, he would shut Kouga up once and for all. He wouldn’t hurt him too badly, because he had promised Kagome he wouldn’t, but Kouga will be leaving with his blood spilt.

Kouga was the first to throw a punch and Sesshoumaru dodged it. This went on for a few minutes and Sesshoumaru noticed that Kouga’s breathing was becoming labored. He knew this was his chance and pulled his fist back to punch Kouga forcefully in his jaw.

Kouga’s head flew to the side and blood poured from his mouth. He spit blood onto the ground, along with a few teeth. He snarled at Sesshoumaru angrily and went to take another swipe at him.

Sesshoumaru was too clever and quick for Kouga. He had already calculated his move and bent down to punch Kouga in the stomach.

He collapsed on the ground and stared up at Sesshoumaru. He knew when he was beat and Sesshoumaru had just kicked his ass. “I surrender,” he confessed, lowering his head in shame.

Kagome came running up towards Sesshoumaru and he pulled her into his embrace. He still didn’t want her anywhere near him.

“Why do you chose him over me?” Kouga asked Kagome wanting to know her answer, even though it may hurt him. “I have always thought about you since the moment I first saw you.”

She looked at Sesshoumaru before turning back to him. “Up until this moment, I haven’t given you much thought,” she answered truthfully. “You and I can never be. I love Sesshoumaru.”

Kouga avoided her eyes. “What’s so great about him?”

She wished he wouldn’t do this to himself, but if it was the only way to get through to him, she would go along with it. “Sesshoumaru is more popular than you. He has more power than you do. What girl wouldn’t want that?”

Kagome could have listed a lot more about him, but she didn’t think her boyfriend would appreciate her telling about his softer side. He still has a reputation to keep.

Sesshoumaru guided her towards the stairs with everyone else following behind them. She paused mid-stairs and turned back to look at Kouga, still sitting on the ground. “I also have a thing for bad boys,” she admitted, earning herself a kiss from her boyfriend.
