As the moon rose high in the sky, six shadowed forms could be made as they ran though the forest that surrounded the large keep. The forms were silent and as they came into view, on a cliff overlooking the roaring sea, one of the forms stopped and silently regarded the full moon that was now at its zenith in the night sky.

"Wha' are ye lookin' at, lad?" Conner asked as he approached the large dark warrior. Balthazar turned to gaze at the young laird and shook his head.

"'Tis funny. A lass keeps enterin' me head and I donna ken who she is." Balthazar said, his long black tail swishing wildly. "'Tis as though me heart breaks each time I think of her."

Conner regarded his lad with quiet eyes. Truth be told, he had also been dreaming of a young human lass, with long ebony hair and eyes that made a lad want to weep. However, he had never met such a lass and so, believed her to be a figment of his imagination.

"Come, lad. Me mother is waitin' at the keep and wishes to tell us some news. We donna keep her waitin'." Conner said. He turned and rushed off after the other lads, leaving Balthazar to glance once more up at the moon.

As he was about to leave, he could have sworn that the mystery lass's face appeared upon the moon and a name came rushing to the front of his mind. "Kagome, lass." He whispered, earning a smile from the vision before it faded from his sight.

Shaking his head at such foolish thoughts, he took off running. But, it was then that the dark warrior named Balthazar knew. His heart had been conquered, and it was a dream that conquered it.

'Twas naught but a midsummer's night's dream.

The end.
