Spring Weddings

"So I was thinking it should be a spring wedding, don't you?"

Sesshou-Maru blinked at the sudden question, wondering if he had heard right. After a moment he allowed the top half of his newspaper to fall so he could clearly see the woman in front of him. Kagome wasn't looking at him, but carefully down at her breakfast, moving it around with her fork. He could smell the nervousness in her scent. He understood, after all he had never proposed; never spoke a word of marriage. Why would she plan one?

Sure they lived in the same house for the past three years, dated for an even seven today, now that he thought about it. But they had never spoken a word about any sort of union, being comfortable as they were. She had never even voiced a desire to change their situation. Not once in their time together, before now, could he remember the word 'wedding' come from her lips, at least when referring to themselves. He himself hadn't thought to change it, he'd been content.

Then again...

He straightened the news paper and went back to examining what news it offered. "A winter wedding would be better."

200 Words. Based off of TheShoelessOne's Tin Man one-shot series 'Heart of Gold, Heart of Tin' fic # 7. It just seemed like a Kagome/Sesshou moment (with, of course, tweaking).

This is a crappy 'thank you' for all who voted for 'Addiction' as best One Shot in the Dokuga Awards! It got a joint First Place with MontiK's 'The Loyalty of Dogs' (Which was the awesomeness). Thank you guys! I lub you!
