Out with the Girls

:: Author's Note ::

Unlike my "Petals from a Poison Flower" drabble collection, all of the drabbles in this story are related and based on various LJ Dokuga_Contest Weekly Perfection Challenge themes and other prompts. I figured that Kagome's friends needed their shot at the spotlight for a bit. :)

Thank you for reading.

"Oh my God, it's him!" cried Eri.

"Who?" said Yuka curiously as she looked around.

"Are you going to finish that milkshake Eri?" asked Ayumi.

"I don't know who he is, but I've been seeing him everywhere. He puts the H in Hot! I wonder if he's on vacation. He looks like a foreigner," whispered Eri, raising her hand and lowering her voice. She not-so-discretely pointed across the street.

Kagome rolled her eyes. Eri was the definition of 'boy crazy'. She casually looked across the road fully expecting to see a biker bad boy or someone else Eri usually fancied. However, this male was no biker and he was definitely not a boy.

Sesshomaru, Lord of the Western Lands in modern-day garb, looked directly at her and smirked. At least she got the bad part right.

He walked towards the group like he had all the time in the world, never breaking eye contact. "Kagome," he said in greeting.

His voice made Eri and Yuka swoon.

Kagome had gone catatonic and Yuka finally nudged her. "H-hello Sesshomaru."

"I was just dropping off a book of mine, but I'm having trouble finding the address for Kanzen's Bookshop." His eyes slid down her body. "Perhaps you can help me locate it?"

Eri and Yuka went wide-eyed. The hottie had the hots for Kagome, and he was making a move!

Then Ayumi chimed in innocently, "Oh I go there all the time! Go down this block and make a left. It's the little shop with a green awning. You can't miss it!"

He raised an eyebrow at Ayumi and Kagome knew it was from annoyance. "I see, thank you for the directions. Ah, before I forget. I also intended to present you with a copy." He grabbed a book and quickly scribbled something down within it before handing it to Kagome. Then he walked off as leisurely as he'd arrived.

"Ayumi, you just cock blocked Kagome something awful," said Yuka dryly.

"What!? No I didn't!" Ayumi replied, then she scratched her head and said vacantly, "Did I really?"

Kagome briefly wondered if her good friend was somehow related to Totosai. She ran a hand through her bangs and flipped the book open. On the title page was a small note in crisp clean penmanship.

Meet me here at 7. Alone.

"Don't worry about it Ayumi. I'm sure I'll catch up with him."
