Haunted Mansion

Chapter One

“Kagome!” Eri yelled as her small group of friends raced towards her. Kagome was quietly sitting under a tree on her campus grounds. With a smile she waved over to her friends as they made their way to her. .The breeze was light, keeping her cool as the summer approached.

Kagome was now twenty years old, she was majoring in history. She hoped to teach students all about the past she once lived in. The day she was returned home after making her wish was one of the hardest she had been through. Kagome was never the person to just sit by and watch the world go though. So she picked herself up and moved on.

“Kagome, you have to come with us!” Eri had a huge grin across her face, her friends boyfriend sat beside her as he too looked excited. Yuki and her boyfriend soon sat as well. Looking a little less thrilled.

“What’s going on guys? Where am I going?” Eri’s face lit up as she began the tale.

“Well we just heard about a castle.” she screamed. The small clearing all turned to the group who was being a bit too loud. Kagome's face blushed a bit as she hushed her friend to quiet down more.

“Eri, relax, you're disturbing everyone.” The small group laughed as Eri herself turned a bit red.

“Well anyway, we heard about a castle far out of town, up by the mountains towards the west. It is said to be haunted!” Eri then clasped her hands together as if that is the best thing ever.

“ And why exactly would we want to go somewhere haunted?” Kagome had a bad feeling about this. She had enough with ghosts, witches, spirits, and demons alike. The last she needed was to go looking for one.

“Well see here is the best part from what the story says, is that those who go there and see the ghost never return.” Okay now Kagome new she was not going to this place, most likely it was not a rumor. Not that anyone else would believe in such a tale. Kagome, now she was one of the few.

“I do not think it is a good idea to go to such a place.” Her friend Yuki looked a bi relieved at her answer. Clearly her other friend was just as sceptical of the whole idea.

“Well Eiji and I are going tonight, it's a friday so we have the weekend to explore the place. Yuki was planning to go too as long as you came.” Kagome outwardly sighed, if her friend was going to be going to this place no matter what, it left her little choice. She was the only one with experience in this field.

“I guess that leaves me no choice but to go with you.” Eri squealed as Kagome gathered her things. The small group running over to the bus stop.

“Let’s meet at the station at seven. Bring stuff to camp out in!” Oh kagome was bringing her stuff, her bow included.

When seven arrived and Kagome walked up to the station she was not surprised to see her friends waiting for her. She smiled before jogging up to them, her yellow old backpack bouncing behind her.

“Wow Kagome I didn’t know you had so much for camping. Is that your long bow?” Eri looked at the long bag that held Kagoomes archery equipment. The group looked at her curiously.

“Well yeah, we don't know what animals could be out there, I thought I would be prepared.” she half lied to the small group. They heard the trains call, all quickly boarding. Yuki,Izumi, Eri and Eiji all stood hanging onto a bar as Kagome took the only available seat, as she had far more to hold onto than the rest. The train ride took them two hours out of the city, when they finally got off. They took a bus from there for another hour. By then it was already pushing past ten. But Eri was determined to get to the castle that night. It took them an hour by foot to finally reach the broken gates of the mansion. The place looked haunted, broken windows, the front doors hanging off the frame. Kagome's skin crawled as a familiar sensation took over her. One she hadn't felt in years.

“Guys we need to leave.” she said urgently. Eri laughed at her before walking over the threshold of the gates. Her boyfriend was close behind her. Yuki gave her a dim look before her and Izumi followed behind. Kagome quickly took out her bow, deciding to leave her bag by the gate. She would need to be able to move quickly.

“Oh you are being dramatic Kag’s.” Eri waved her hand. The sensation grew as they pushed through the doors of the mansion, their torches shining about the room. Cobwebs covered everything, furniture was broken about the entryway. It looked to once be a beautiful sitting room. They walked to a room to their left, it looked to be a library of sorts, an unused fireplace with thousands of books, scrolls and antiques. Kagome’s torch turned as she then saw blood stains, all over a wall and shelf. Her blood ran cold.

“Guys, we need to leave now. Her friends were about to tell her how much a baby she was until their own torches landed on the bloody wall. Then suddenly the sensation she felt before disappeared. Her friends were talking but she wasn’t listening. The demon that was here, had just hidden itself. Which only meant one thing, it was coming to them.

“Guys, run.” Her voice held no argument. The group sprinted out of the building, Kagome's senses on high alert. A loud earth shaking roar was heard as the group fell to the ground. The shaking caused them to stumble. Eri screaming as she frantically tried to get up, their torches falling away from them as they just sprinted to the gates.

In Kagome's peripheral vision she saw white. Before the demon showed itself before them. The small group stopping at the beast before them. Eri, and Yuki crying as Kagome rushed in front of all of them, her bow drawn. Her bow began to glow pink with familiar power before she let her arrow fly, but the beast moved too quickly for her, as it lunged closer she dropped her bow, throwing her hands up into the air to create a barrier. The beast hit it, causing it to almost break from the force. Now that it was close she got a better look at the demon. Her eyes widened as she looked into the red eyes of the Lord of the West.

“Sesshomaru.” She whispered.

The beast let out a loud huff, the acid dripped from his mouth as he was about to spray it onto the barrier. Kagome prepared herself for the attack as she drew upon more of her power, her friends screaming behind her. The acid hit but the barrier held strong.

“Kagome what is happening, what are you?” Eri yelled out. Keeping her hands held high Kagome turned to them with a smile.

“I am a Miko, and we are currently fighting a demon Lord.” Her smile faltered as Sesshomaru let out another earth shattering roar, obviously angry at the holy power before him.

The small group screamed again. As Kagome faced Sesshomaru. She could see the pain and anger in his eyes. She could clearly tell the years have not been kind to him. She could feel the pain through her soul. Nodding her head she decided one more stupid idea to do, she was always throwing herself in bad situations. And this one called for another bad one, only this time, no one was here to save her. But she knew her friends could at least get away.

“Guy’s, if you hope to survive this, I need you to listen to everything I'm going to tell you.” The small group nodded as they felt the barrier take another hit from the demon slashing at it from the outside.

“Remember in highschool when I was alway sick? Well I was not sick, I traveled 500 years into the past, during the Edo period, I fought demons to complete the Shikon Jewel.” She could tell they didn’t want to believe her but the proof was surrounding them.

“ I am the shikon Miko, and this demonhere, is actually the half brother of my two timing half- demon boyfriend you met.” It all began to click in Eri, and Yuki’s head. Their friend clearly wasn’t lying but to have lived such a different life.

“Now, I am going to use myself as bait, when I run from this barrier count to ten and then run. Get as far away as you can.”

“We are not leaving you!” With Eri’s stubborn voice, Kagome could feel the barrier beginning to wane as the Sesshomaru continued his assault to get to them. His snarling was increasing.

“You have to.” Kagome smiled at her. Her friend continued to tell her if she was to die they would die together. While she could see the boy’s, did not agree with her statement. How loyal.

Taking a deep breath she slowly lowered her arms, calmly she began to walk through the barrier, sesshomaru stopping as he watched this Miko willingly come to him.

“Lord Sesshomaru.” She whispered as she neared the barrier edge. She watched as the eyes of the beast widened slightly.

“It’s Kagome, you’re wretched half brothers Miko. She tried to calmly say, hoping belittling inuyasha now would save her.

“Lord Sesshomaru, do you remember me?” She whispered as she crossed the threshold of her barrier, her friends screaming for her to come back.

The snarling demon lord, sniffed the air. She could see his nostrils flare as he took in her scent. It was not long until she saw the flames and smoke surround him, his humanoid shape before her. His eyes are still red with bloodlust. She stood completely still as her tears began to fall. It was really him, Sesshomaru from her past. She wanted so badly to run into his arms. Instead she continued to hold still. Knowing any sudden movement could have him changing his mind and killing her.

“I am here, Sesshomaru- sama.” She weekly smiled at him. Her friends were quiet except for the occasional sob. She hadn’t even blinked before she felt a clawed hand ripping deeply into her hair as he gripped her head tightly, her head was forced to snap to the side as his nose took a deep sniff of her neck. His wet tongue sliding up as he tasted her skin. She felt his warm breath as he continued his assault on her person. SShe was dead silent, didn’t move, didn’t even want to breathe. She could hear her friends trying to be quiet, they didn’t know what was going on, Kagome however knew exactly what was bound to happen.

She was thanking the cKami’s for deciding to lose her virginity over saving it for a husband as sesshomaru forced her to the ground, his claws tearing her shirt open, his teeth ripping her bra from her body. As he began to ravish her chest, a tear slowly fell. How much pain, how alon was Sesshomaru, to resort to forcing a human to lay with him. The once honor bound human hating demon Lord seems to be gone. Slowly she brought her hand up to run them lovingly through his own silver mane.

Her breath catching when his motions completely stopped. His head slowly rose as he nuzzled her nose with his on, his blood red gaze looking into her blue deeply. Slowly he retreated from her person. She watched as he slowly removed his outer Haori before handing it to her. Quickly grabbing the item she wrapped it about herself, the tears falling more freely then before.

“Sesshomaru.” She finally sobbed out. She was surprised when he lifted her to his arms, before seating wit her on the ground, his arms wrapped about her protectively. His gaze was staring

right to her friends but right now she didn’t care. She turned into his chest and sobbed out her pain. The old feelings of loss returning within his embrace.
