She grabbed all of her things that she thought she needed. And last but not least her memories for they were the only thing she had now to remind her of him. He wasn't much of a good husband neither was he a good lover. Every day she questioned her self, 'Why did I marry him? Did I ever love him? Did he ever love me?'

*****

Kagome was now 26. She had an unfulfilled life of lies deception and infidelity. Her 4 year marriage to Inuyasha was destined for disaster. He had an uncontrollable temper and was jealous at times. He wanted a perfect wife, and Kagome wasn't at all what he wanted. He had told Kagome in a lot of their arguments that he regretted ever marrying her. "Why the hell are you here?" he would start off, "Leave and just go back to the slums where you belong." "You're nothing but a waste of my time! I wish I never met you!" Even though he never dared to strike Kagome his words seemed to hurt more than any blow.

Being the wife of a wealthy man didn't make her marriage any better. Inuyasha was rarely ever home. So the big house, the fame, the fortune and the glamour became a complete burden, and all of the jewelry, expensive dresses, shoes and purses were rarely ever worn since Kagome rarely ever left the mansion.

Kagome had had a feeling for a long time that Inuyasha was being unfaithful. Inuyasha never tried to hide the fact that he was cheating on Kagome. He'd leave and that would be the end of it. There, Kagome would stalk the halls of their mansion in boredom and sadness until he returned.

She was still beautiful. Any man would have been happy to have a wife as sweet, kindhearted, and attractive as Kagome. Though Inuyasha found her sweetness to be annoying, and took her kindheartedness for being naïve. He even thought her beauty was bland and boring. She ignored his insults and rarely ever spoke to him, unless he started one of their usual arguments which differed from money, to how she spent the money, to why she was wasting the money on things she didn't need and also his favorite: Why she always stayed in the house.

"Well if you would take me somewhere...at least...once in a while..." She would say.

"What are you a dog? Can't you go out by yourself?" His words were cruel. "I'm getting tired of all of your damn complaining about why don't you take me some where? And, why are you always gone? And, can I come too?"

He would say this all mockingly...

"I wish you would just shut the fuck up!" That's how many of their arguments started and that is how many of their arguments ended.

Things got so bad between them that they slept in different bedrooms. The only time they slept in the same bed was when he couldn't sleep with one of his mistresses. He would climb into her bed. Kiss her tenderly - caressing her breast, trying to please her to his best advantage without prevailing. Kagome always wondered if he thought about someone else when they made love. She didn't care what he did for she just laid still under him as he lost himself - humping and grinding at her center however he'd like. Before she knew it, it was over. The longest he'd ever lasted with her was six minutes. Kagome found it easy and better to pleasure her self than to have Inuyasha 'make love to her.'

Those four years seemed to be endless. The arguing never stopped, neither did Inuyasha's infidelity. Kagome was tired of everything: Of her self-centered husband, of her boring routine of a life, of this unpleasant marriage. She was mostly tired of the rare sex she had with Inuyasha. It was horrible, just horrible. The fact that it was rare was bad, but the fact that Inuyasha was so lousy at it was even more horrible. The thought of him touching her made her want to vomit.

She wanted something new, and she wanted someone new. It was the 3rd year into their marriage. She had noticed how Inuyasha's best friend Miroku always looked at her and always seemed to flirt with her, always seems no matter what they were doing to grab her derrière. At first she found it annoying, and then she began to want those very violating touches because at least someone was paying attention to her. It's not like Miroku was ugly he was far from that. He was very handsome with short black hair and dark indigo eyes.

She always wondered how good Miroku was in bed even though she found it kind 'a perverted to think that way, but she still did. She had even caught her self getting aroused at her own perverted thoughts. Sango (Miroku's wife and also her best friend) should know. She always wanted to ask Sango but she never did for she was too shy when it came to those subjects.

One weekend Inuyasha left on one of his so-called 'business trips', "He's probably with that other women," she said to her self as she drank down some vodka at their bar. She was hoping for it to somehow erase the sadness, to somehow wash it away. She had caught her self being hypnotized as if in some kind of trance as she watched the liquid gently move as she swirled the vodka in the shot glass. Thoughts of the past, of Inuyasha came to mind.

He was so cute to her, she loved his golden eyes, and she loved his silver hair. She didn't know much of him; all she knew was that he was the son of Toga Youkai, one of the wealthiest men in Japan. They had even said he was one of the wealthiest men in the world. Inuyasha was nothing of what she thought the son of a wealthy man should look and act like. Inuyasha was loud, and somewhat obnoxious, but for some reason she liked that about him.

She was used to seeing Inuyasha from afar. Then one day by accident she bumped into him. She bowed and apologized - her face had turned as red as a tomato.

"Are you ok?" He sounded some what concerned.

She couldn't speak. She was afraid she would say something stupid and she didn't want to be embarrassed even more.

He started talking to her and for some reason he said, "I don't know why you're acting so shy. You're acting like you don't know me. I've seen you around school and was getting pretty mad that you hadn't come up and talked to me yet."

'What is he talking about,' Kagome thought. 'He's speaking as if he knows me.'

"Kikyou, you're playin' hard to get, huh?"

'Did he just call me Kikyou?' she asked herself silently.

"No my name is Kagome, not Kikyou."

He backed up and looked her up and down for a minute.

"Oi, my apologies...! You look like this girl I know, so..." Inuyasha began to blush

"Oh, it's okay." She couldn't help but to blush too.

Ever since that incident they became friends then a couple, then lovers, and after college, husband and wife. Even though she began to hate Inuyasha she still loved the man he was when she was in college - the man she fell in love with.

"There is someone here for you Mrs. Youkai," The butler said. Kagome was too preoccupied with drinking and reminiscing to listen.

"If I were you, I wouldn't be drinking so much." She recognized that voice. She lifted her head from the island in which she was resting her very dizzy head. "What do you want Miroku?" she slurred.

Before she married Inuyasha she wasn't used to being drunk and she wasn't even used to drinking but since she'd been married to Inuyasha that all changed. She was usually drunk twice sometimes three times a week now.

There Miroku stood in an Italian suit. It was such a dark shade of blue it almost looked black. Miroku was always dressed nice. She was used to him in tailored suits, though. "Well I wanted to say hello to one of my favorite girls in the world," he began as he tried to help Kagome stand. She fell against him. "Are you ok?" He asked, but to no avail was she to listen.

She felt dizzy and a little out of place holding him like this – his muscles tensing and then relaxing under her touch, but damn how he smelt so good. Was that Calvin Klein she smelt? "I like your cologne," is what she meant to say but it sort 'a came out as, "You smell delicious." Miroku just chuckled, "Thanks, and you happen to smell tasty your self," he said through his short wisps of laughter. She sat down on the bar stool.

"Where did the butler go?" she asked trying to regain her composure. "Oh! Uh...I think he left," Miroku said as he took the liquor bottle and put it on a shelf behind the bar counter. One thing Kagome loved about this house was the fact that it had a bar.

"Miroku?" she said to him as he sat down next to her at the island. She was trying to get her head out of other stuff and start some kind of conversation.

"Yeah?" he was looking at both of her hands on the counter.

"Do you think I'm attractive?" 'Did I just ask what I thought I just asked? Did I just ask Miroku if I was attractive?' She thought maybe he would say no for it took him a long time to answer. He locked eyes with her as he spoke.

"Hmm...well I would have to say the cuteness has gone away, but you are very beautiful in a rare way ya' know?"

"No, I don't think I know what you mean by rare beauty." She couldn't help but to slur at her words.

"Some women are so beautiful with makeup and beauty products lining their faces, but then they take it off and they look like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz." Kagome began to laugh.

Miroku continued to talk. "I've never seen you with makeup on Kagome...wait, I'm lying... on your wedding day you wore makeup - not a lot but enough and you looked wonderful, but my point is that with or without makeup your beauty makes you look...well...just amazing to me."

Kagome felt her heart melt. Inuyasha hadn't called her beautiful in years and he never said any of those sweet things to her, but she found herself digging a ditch that she couldn't climb out of - for she was going to do something that she would never have done before. She kissed Miroku, she thought that he would pull her off of him, insult her, call her the worst of names, but he didn't. He just kissed her back.

Maybe she kissed Miroku because she was drunk. Or maybe she kissed him because the things he said were the things she just happened to want to hear but hadn't heard in so long. He started to caress her breast and for some reason she moaned even though Inuyasha had done it many of times before, but this felt good to her. 'Are we going to have sex right here in the bar?' She dismissed the thought and was glad that the bar was in another wing of the house - a wing that wasn't allowed entry for the maids and butlers, unless they had permission. She found that she was enjoying this and as bad as it was she didn't want to stop. She felt a sudden rush of warmth between her legs. When they stood he held her close and she could feel his erection rub against her center, and no, he couldn't stop because if he did it would be like treason.

He slipped his hand underneath her skirt to rub her butt through her panties. She was happy she wore a skirt today. She pulled away from his embrace and slipped into a storage room where a lot of the liquor was held, Miroku smirked and followed.

"Wait there," he said closing the door behind them. His breathing seemed rushed as he began to take off his suite, but it all looked as if to be in slow motion in her eyes. As he began to unbutton his shirt Kagome noticed something she had never noticed before. Miroku actually did work out, and his body was nice, and a little better toned than Inuyasha's. She was becoming impatient, and her heart was beating so fast. She couldn't take the pressure and decided to go over and help him undress. Soon his shirt was off leaving him clad in his dress pants. This time she could she could feel his rushed breath on her face before he grabbed her chin and placed another heated kiss on her lips. She had to admit that this kiss wasn't like the kiss in the bar and was definitely more passionate.

Unlike with himself he took off her shirt and bra quickly as with the rest of her clothing, and soon she was completely nude in his hands as he looked over her. She looked down and gasped. He was so erect she could tell just by looking at the crotch of his pants, and she couldn't help but want him to be inside of her, but she also wanted to rush him because through all of the wanton and loneliness she knew it was wrong in some way.

He unbuckled his pants quickly and spread Kagome's legs. He entered her slowly. Kagome felt pleasure and at the same time there was pain since it had been so long since she actually had sex. He started off slow then he begin to pick up pace. She was moaning trying so hard not to be loud as she dug her nails into his back. And finally she convulsed around him and he soon joined her. He pulled himself out of her and stood to his feet.

"Do you have anything I can clean myself up with?" he asked her – there wasn't much emotion on his face, but his eyes held anxiety in their depths.

"Its okay, Miroku, you can go to the other wing and take a shower," Kagome muttered through the odd atmosphere surrounding them.

When they were both decently dressed he moved her bangs, kissed her forehead and left for he other wing of the house. She went upstairs to take a much needed shower. As the water began to soothingly caress her back she began to cry. Did she want to be loved so badly that the only person who could make her feel loved was her husband's best friend who was also her best friend's husband? Her mind supplied her with 'Yes, yes, yes' and a remark on her dignity.

After she got out of the shower she climbed into bed not even bothering to dress. She hoped that when she awoke everything that happened would just turn out to be a damned dream.

The encounter with Miroku never happened again. It was no surprise that Inuyasha found out, and it was no surprise that he was mad.

"This is what you do when I'm gone, huh?" Kagome had just gotten out of the shower. What happened between her and Miroku had happened months ago. Yet Inuyasha just found out about it. "What are you talking about Inuyasha?"

"Don't act stupid with me Kagome; you know what the hell I'm talking about!"

"Then why don't you tell me so I can understand, Inuyasha?" She was getting aggravated and her voice started to rise in the slightest bit. She sat down on the bed staring at an enraged Inuyasha. His golden eyes were glazed. 'He must have been drinking,' she thought to herself.

"I know about you and Miroku. How dare you seduce my friend to sleep with...with...you! And in my own house!" He looked at Kagome with disgust and a snarl on his lips.

Kagome stood up from the bed - all patience and concede thrown out of her mind. "Seduce? I didn't seduce anyone! And I sure as hell didn't seduce him! He slept with me because he wanted to. Though you only sleep with me when you can't fuck with that other bitch of yours. Isn't that right Inuyasha?" Kagome couldn't believe what she was saying, and most of all she couldn't believe she was using such foul words. Her emotions were taking the best of her.

Kagome's hands balled in to fist relieving pent up pressure and frustration as her nails bit into her skin. If only she could just hit something...or someone. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome by her throat, almost choking her, but only succeeding in silencing her rampage of words. "Don't you dare call her a bitch. She's more of a woman then you could ever be!" He pushed Kagome to the floor stalking out of the room leaving Kagome their on the floor, basically naked and crying uncontrollably. That was the last of their arguments...

They didn't speak, he even tried to act as if she didn't exist. The holidays came and went as they usually did. A new year had just begun and Inuyasha still hadn't spoken to her. Until on one rainy day in April. He came to her in the kitchen with papers telling her to sign them and that was it.

"What's this?" Kagome asked in shock since it had been months to a year since Inuyasha had spoken to her.

"We're over, done, now sign this so the divorce can be final."

"But...." He quickly cut her off.

"Just fuckin' sign it!" Inuyasha commanded through clenched teeth. Kagome sighed taking the papers and signing her signature wherever needed and the next day she was gone. And she left with the worst behind her...

Oddness revolved around and a shadowed past revealing the smallest amounts of light would appear occasionally, but only in his desire to be so. Inuyasha being only but the youngest of his sibling would only live a sheltered life. He was quite shunned with his abilities compared to his brother's aptitude per say. Although comparison between the two brothers would usually be one-sided on looks in a sense their similarities in their pasts could be compared somewhat. Though, in their younger days, Inuyasha found himself to be quite happy with his mother's guidance it was only at the age of eight that death claimed her in a terrible plane crash on her way to Nagasaki. In this sense they were compared as both motherless children.

It was quite apparent though that as they grew Inuyasha beckoned to be nothing his brother would be or was. Apathetic, stoic, distant, intimidating and somewhat introverted but not shy. Arrogance was one of the little things they shared. Many considered him perfect, but Inuyasha was usually considered a nuisance.

Their looks varied with both of them having that same eye-catching silvery-white hair that they inherited from their father, and as some would put it irresistible golden eyes that you could get lost in. But Inuyasha thought it was quite unfair that his brother's hair seemed to always have that long, straight and slickly soft feeling while his held an unruly look to it. The most visible difference was the birthmarks. He had none while his brother possessed two magenta strips on each side of his face and a royal blue crescent moon on his forehead, visible only by the parted locks of hair covering his forehead. Other markings were splayed on his body but were only visible in certain cases.

To Inuyasha his hatred of his brother would excel everyday because of the easy way he received and never returned, but so little did he actually know. Both were treated equally by their father, but in Inuyasha's eyes Sesshoumaru was his fathers' favorite. He would have trust in him and only showed minor trust in Inuyasha to look for the right document to get out of his file cabinet. He treated him like a child and always seemed to point out the most of his minor mistakes. Toga Youkai loved discussing Sesshoumaru's achievements with his friends, but always seem to leave out Inuyasha's though there were only a few of which. Inuyasha would never admit that he was envious of that relationship – for many reasons why he was distant in their propinquity. And it was no surprise with such how Inuyasha became such a rebellion in his younger days. Starting fights, back-talking to adults and skipping classes was only a couple of the things on his lists of everyday activities. It proved that his pride swelled when he entered into college, proving one of his brother's comments wrong.

To teach Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru would continually propel him with harsh words and actions. Inuyasha thought he would finally excel at something. Inuyasha loved to fight, but what he didn't know was that Sesshoumaru had mastered 3 martial arts, and sword fighting. Inuyasha found out the hard way as he lost terribly to his brother. Sesshoumaru did not go easy on Inuyasha. He broke his nose, an arm and a rib as he suffered a great defeat. From that day on Inuyasha knew that his family hated him, and he knew that as long as his last name was Youkai he would never be loved.

He thought he found some one who loved him when he met Kikyou. She was beautiful - just breath taking. She was his high school sweet heart. He dreamt about her in the nights embrace, and when he was awake he wanted to be with her. To hold her, kiss her, to make love to her. Though when he went to college he lost contact with Kikyou. They went to different colleges. They knew a long distance relationship wouldn't work so they ended things there.

In his junior year of college he met Kagome. She looked so much like Kikyou. He knew if he couldn't have Kikyou he would have her. They were only dating for 8 months when he proposed to her. When they both graduated from college they got married. They had a big lavish wedding with over 100 guests. Most of his and her family members and friends came; this included some of his fathers' friends and associates. The only person that didn't attend was Inuyasha's half-brother, Sesshoumaru.

The first year of the marriage wasn't great but it was good. Something happened though that stopped their marriage from ever progressing. Kikyou came back into his life. Inuyasha couldn't help but be with her. She was everything his wife wasn't and even more in his eyes. He found it hard to stay at home for he craved Kikyou. He wanted and needed her. Kagome was a burden. She was so nice and sweet to most that she knew, but Inuyasha was greedy and he wanted Kikyou, yet he wanted Kagome too.

He noticed that over the years he and Kagome always seemed to argue and their relationship progression soon stopped. He hated looking at her. He hated hearing her voice. He hated sleeping next to her. So he moved out of their bedroom and moved into one of the guest bedrooms. This was better, he needed time to think. He knew that Kagome would never hurt him. She was just a trophy wife. He didn't really love her but he liked her, even though she stalked their home as if she were a lost soul. Always drinking, always crying. He knew she was miserable, but he didn't care. He wasn't ready for a divorce and he didn't want to give up on their hopeless marriage, not yet at least. Worst of all he wanted to prove his father and brother wrong.

In one incident their father had invited them over for a little get-together and drink in the study and were discussing business to politics, but somehow the conversation changed over to the subject of Inuyasha's marriage, and then much more...

"The way you speak of your wife is very depressing brother. I don't even wish to see her. The sight of her sadness, and the fact that she has to lay with...you every night might just bring a tear to my eye." Sesshoumaru's sarcasm was biting away at the subject and leaving a dead cold behind.

"Sesshoumaru why must you speak that way of your brother's wife? Trust me when I say that he's found quite a looker actually. If I were a little younger you two probably would have another brother or sister by now. If you would have attended your brothers wedding you would know what I'm talking about, Sesshoumaru." Toga chuckled and took another puff of his cigar.

To his father's comment Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow. 'And that's who I get my sex drive from...'

Toga's lips turned into a sly grin before saying, "Hey, I'm not that old. If I would've met her before you, Inuyasha, you two would have another brother or sister by now." The butler sitting in the corner tried his best to keep his giggles hidden.

"Father! Are you suggesting that you would make love to my wife!?" Inuyasha's voice changed pitches and rose at his surprise at his father's odd comment.

Toga took another puff of his Cuban cigar and turned to face Inuyasha in his seat. "Son, what we would be doing wouldn't be considered making love." Sesshoumaru's eyebrow rose so high that it seemed to disappear in his hair. "But I'd have to say that you two are a little young to know about that."

Two minutes had passed and the butler in the corner of the study was trying his best to stifle his laughter. For Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, their minds were set on trying to forget what their father had just said. "But Father, I've heard that you already have a girlfriend. Is that true?"

"Hn...nah! I have three. I can't just give this good lovin' to one woman." At that moment Sesshoumaru deeply regretted asking such a question.

"SHUT UP! One thing I don't want to imagine is you having sex!" Inuyasha's voice boomed across the study. Toga pointed his finger at his loud son sitting next to the fireplace. "Hey! If it wasn't for me having sex with your mother, and your mother then you two wouldn't be here! You should be grateful that I didn't wear a condom!" The butler in the corner of the study couldn't contain himself anymore as he burst in to fits of laughter on the floor.

"Hey! You're fired! Now send in Ana..."

There were many occasions where the butler sat in the study waiting to serve Toga and his guest, and on many of those occasions Toga would say something odd but funny and he would laugh ending up with "You're Fired!" So it wasn't amazing when the butler walked out of the study with an ever present smile on his face.

"Father, I think you've had too much to drink."

"Sesshoumaru...I've had a lot to drink. Now, where's my bourbon?"

A soft and somewhat shy voice sounded at the door. "It's right here, Sir," Answered Ana from the doorway. Her dark-brown hair was in layers and curls ending at the middle of her back and her eyes glowed a warm brownish-tan. She wore a regular black and white maid outfit which consisted of a knee-length black ruffled skirt and a white buttoned up shirt that was tucked in. Sesshomaru peered upon her and agreed that she was quite pretty, but there was something plain about her.

"What are you wearing?" Toga had an eyebrow raised and his mouth turned into a deep frown.

"Um...Just my uniform, Sir..." was her uncertain answer.

"I wanted you to wear that other uniform."

"Oh! You mean the outfit that you got for me?"

"Yes...That one..."

There was an odd silence until Ana returned. What they saw when she returned could have made any man's eyes pop out. The outfit she wore would have put a French maid uniform to shame. It seemed the bustier couldn't contain her breast and seemed nothing but two sizes too small, and the mini skirt hid no amount of leg from view. Just to make this very detailed outfit short: it left no imagination what-so-ever run short.

Sesshoumaru until now was taking a sip of his brandy, but as soon as she stepped in the room again it only helped some that he had swallowed his brandy before she came in, though only a little too fast. It was only but natural that seconds later a few coughs erupted from his throat, and mean while in Inuyasha's seat his mouth all-but hung loose.

The perverted smirk wasn't something Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru hadn't seen before on their father's face. He turned to Sesshomaru and whispered somewhat loudly, "I made her wear that uniform for a purpose." Sesshoumaru's stoic façade dropped for an untimely amount of seconds before presenting itself back on his face and him turning his gaze on anything but his father and his maid. Inuyasha seemed to be still quite shocked.

"Do I look okay?" She said fixing the bustier so it could fit her somewhat properly.

The smirk on Toga's face never lessened as he replied, "Daddy likes..." At that point Inuyasha thought that he had gone deaf, but yet it was only one of his perverted sayings – though one of his favorites along with "C'mon..."

Sesshomaru coughed again. "I think I am getting somewhat thirsty," he said, but his intentions were primarily to change subject.

"Well then, come on Ana. Serve us the bourbon," Toga summoned. Ana walked over to Inuyasha at Toga's request, but he didn't seem thirsty as he denied her offer and backed away from her deeper into his chair. She then turned to Toga before starting to pour the liquid into his shot glass.

"That is not the way I told you to pour my drinks..." His glance at her was penetrating.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, Sir," she muttered before bending slightly lower and enhancing her cleavage to be a bit more visible. Toga grinned and shook his head approvingly.

All the while Inuyasha and Sesshomaru didn't approve. While Sesshomaru continually avoided his gaze to the fireplace Inuyasha quietly muttered to himself 'Daddy doesn't do that,' repeatedly. After taking down his shot of bourbon the grin returned to Toga's face. "So...Let's talk about our craziest sex experiences!"

It was that one comment that admittedly drove them both away. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha knew that would happen on that Friday night in his mansion, but they fought to think otherwise. And it was on every Friday night that they would find themselves being driven away by their father's sex crazed mind and drunkenness – though this didn't always happen when he was drunk. As a sober man involved in his business Toga could be compared to Sesshomaru in almost all aspects, but it came to the times where he let loose that trouble brewed.

"Aw, c'mon... You guys are no fun. Ana upstairs right now!" Ana began to giggle and followed his request for her to be in his room before he lost interest in what he wanted to do. "Thank god it's Friday," Toga muttered to himself while walking to the stairs.

And that is one of the reasons Inuyasha hated being near his father and brother. While his father made sure to make him uncomfortable in an odd situation, Sesshomaru continuously damaged his ego and pride. His brother's questions were the least of what he needed in his situation, but now that the divorce was final they just happened to be right about something again. Damn did he hate when that happened!

The day he found out Kagome cheated on him he was mad and also happy. Not only could he get rid of Kagome but he could also make the divorce be because of her infidelity and not his. The week after the divorce was final, he proposed to Kikyou. He was sure his life would be great now. He was 28 with the women of his dreams. Nothing could go wrong now. At least that's what he thought...
